Safety glass is a form of glass that is particularly engineered to be less prone to breakage and less likely to cause damage when shattered. Toughened and laminated safety glass are the two major forms of safety glass. Both are created and supplied by Magic Glass and are constructed utilizing strengthening processes.
Toughened glass: is boosted by increasing the pace at which it cools. This procedure raises the tensile strength of the glass, making it less prone to fracture due to heat, wind, or impact. When toughened glass fractures, it shatters into little cubes, reducing the possibility of harm. Although toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled, it can still shatter, making it less secure than laminated glass.
Toughened glass is commonly used in shower screens &doors, automobile passenger windows, glass doors and tables, scuba diving masks, and a range of cookware and tableware due to its strong resistance to force and lightweight qualities.
Laminated glass: is made by sandwiching a layer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) between numerous panes of glass and fusing the entire unit together with heat and pressure. The PVB interlayer retains the glass in place, preventing the unit from breaking in the case of a collision. Furthermore, by altering the thickness and color of the PVB interlayer, laminated glass may be utilized to limit solar energy transfer, UV radiation, and glare. As a result of the shatter-proof characteristic of laminated glass, it is often used in skylights, vehicle windshields and shopfronts.
